three letters

1:

Dear lady: So I say to him, you are not Thich Nhat Hanh. You are not Jack Kerouac. You are not even Connor Oberst. You are a generic white boy who is continually intruding on my psychological space with your patronizing post-modernism. You make me feel like I am being jerked off on. The whole time I’m just thinking to myself, make some fucking room. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this zine I’m sending. It’s about peak oil. Peak oil is becoming a serious issue you know. Be home soon, maybe- Love you

2:

Dearest friend, can you proofread this for me? Dear BF Skinner. What is your feeling on the Theory of Mind as applied to autism? It seems to me that, if framed a certain way, it could be used to view autistic people as sociopaths. Mr. Skinner, I also wanted to ask you—how do you feel about Applied Behavior Analysis? Do you feel it helps or hinders autistic people? I can’t be sure and I’m certainly no expert. But it seems that, if used certain ways, under certain circumstances, it might make them into duller versions of themselves. Especially when electric shocks are used. The last thing I want to say, Mr. Skinner, is fuck you and your Skinner Box and your mutilation of rats and pigeons and fuck the fascist experiments you wanted to perform on society as elucidated in your creepy manifesto Walden Two. Fuck the fact that people continue to swing from your fascist balls as is evidenced in the common practice of shocking autistic children and other “wierdos” which I can’t help but think you may have approved of, although I’m not sure if you actually had direct involvement with the practice. Oh yeah, and fuck you for evoking the language of Thoreau when you titled your book. Love you

3:

Oh my dear girl, I think about you every time I walk by the black ring around the oak tree. If you buy me a couple of beers I will love you and compliment you and touch your hand softly as though I don’t know how soft I’m being. I will charm you, sing for you, cradle your head… did you know that love and greed will turn into one another under situations of extreme power differential? Greed is a strategy. Sometimes it really works. Self-sufficiency becomes dependent upon needing to take as much as possible in order to feel a sense of control. Holding others so that they begin to need you. Taking what is theirs until they become convinced that you have what they need—which, of course, you do. If others need you, you exist. I will continue this letter later Love you P.S. Do you have god’s phone number? Can I get it from you I need to ask that guy a question
